Based on the classic Edgar Allan Poe short story "The Tell-Tale Heart," this work is reminiscent of a classic Hollywood horror movie theme.  The piano and optional harp and percussion parts punctuate the tension and suspense that is felt from the first note to the last.  The basses act as the low, ominous threat of danger, and the upper voices represent the insanity of the main character's twisted plan.  A real thriller!
